Nigerian striker Paul Onuachu says he expects KRC Genk to allow him to leave should a club match their asking price next summer.
Onuachu was expected to leave the Belgian side after his record-breaking performance last season, but talks broke down between Genk’s and potential suitors over the asking price.
The striker has since agreed on a new deal with the Club, but expects Genk to allow him to leave, should a suitable offer arrives.
“Many clubs are currently not having an easy time financially due to the corona pandemic,”
“Have new agreements been made in the meantime?, Genk will cooperate if an offer is made that all parties agree with.” He told Het Laatste Nieuws.
The Nigerian international stressed that he wasn’t meant to remain at the club after last season’s performances.
“I’m not going to lie about it myself,” said Paul Onuachu in Het Laatste Nieuws.
“I had expected to train at KRC Genk for a few more weeks after the holidays and then leave for a new club. It was waiting, waiting, and waiting. In the end, nothing came.”
“I can do nothing more to decorate a transfer. The football world is not always fair. I am still convinced that I could have made a nice transfer.”
“I expected to train at KRC Genk for a few more weeks after the holidays and then leave for a new club.”
Onuachu has scored 11 goals in 13 matches for Genk this season.
