Onazi declares Readiness for 2018 World Cup, Thanks Rohr for Special Gesture

Just seven days before Gernot Rohr announces his provisional world cup list, Super Eagles midfielder Onazi Ogenyi has declared he is “fit and ready” for the tournament.

Onazi who recently returned to action after a two week injury lay-off was available for his Turkish Super Lig side, Trabzonspor, at the weekend.

 

He clocked 79 minutes in the 5-2 home defeat, but is positive his team remain on course for a European ticket.

 

Speaking from his base in Turkey, the 2013 Afcon winner expressed appreciation for the attention from the Technical Adviser during his fitness struggle.

 

Onazi revealed to Brila.net that Rohr sent in a physical trainer to help with his recovery.

 

‘ I’m 100 percent fit and ready for the world cup. I must also thank the Boss, Gernot Rohr who sent me a trainer when I was injured.  Right now, I can’t wait to be back with the Super Eagles.

 

‘The season has been up and down; not bad but not soo good, yet I can confidently say we’re still on course,’ the midfielder quipped.
