On this day, Five years ago Sunday Mba settled the score in a cagey Africa Nations Cup final match against Burkina Faso to seal Nigeria’s third continental crown.
Both teams had first met in the group stage, but played out a feisty 1-1 result – the Étalons even topped the group with Nigeria finishing second.
But in the final, Mba struck on the 40th minute and it was just enough for Stephen Keshi’s men to see out their dogged West African neighbors inside the FNB Stadium in Johannesburg.
