Cypriot professional football club side, Athletic Club Omonia Nicosia has promised to stand by Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho, who is facing long lay-off while on international duty with Nigeria.
The former Depotivo Lacaruna goalkeeper sustained a knee ligaments injury in Nigeria’s friendly game with Brazil at Singapore last Sunday.
The 20-year-old Super Eagles goalkeeper, who has been ever present in his Club’s five games so far this season is now expected to out till the rest of the season.
“Francis Uzoho has been diagnosed with a rupture of the anterior cruciate ligament and external meniscus he got in the international game between Nigeria and Brazil. Speedy recovery and return to action Francis. The OMONIA family is by your side!,” Omonia Nicosia said in a statement.
Uzoho has played 14 matches for Nigeria and was a squad member at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations . He was in goal for Nigeria in the 3rd place match against Tunisia.
