Super Eagles defender, Kenneth Omeruo said his club was unlucky to drop two points against Sporting Gijon in a Segunda B match.
Omeruo played his first full 90 minutes since returning from a hamstring injury in November.
He made a solid return to the side ending the match with 3 clearances and interceptions, 4 successful tackles, won 8 duels and 86% completed passes.
Gijon took the lead in the second half after Borja Lopez converted a penalty awarded by the VAR in the second half.
Leganes equalised six minutes into added time, thanks to another penalty and converted by Borja Baston.
The match ended in a draw, but Omeruo opined that his side deserved to leave El Molinon with the maximum points.
“Unlucky to only pick one point from a game we deserved to win. We keep going,” Omeruo posted on social media.
