Former Chelsea and Leganes defender, Kenneth Omeruo says he is happy with Super Eagles’ victory over the Central African Republic.
Omeruo featured as a second-half substitute as Nigeria defeated their 2-0 in Douala on Sunday.
The Eagles were heavily criticized by the media and fans for losing the first leg 1-0 to the Wild Beasts, and Omeruo said, they had no choice but to prove themselves on Sunday.
“We had to win in Douala to show that we are better than CAR. I am happy that we won at the end,” he told Supersports.
The former Middlesbrough defender replaced injured Leon Balogun in the second half of the encounter and help the Super Eagles pushed the result over the line.
