Super Eagles defender Kenneth Omeruo stated that players should remain disciplined and continue working hard when they fail to make the starting line-up for the national team.
The Leganes defender expressed his displeasure with the body language of his national team colleagues, especially when they aren’t picked to start games by the manager.
Omeruo who is the longest serving player in the current squad, alongside Captain Ahmed Musa said there is a need for these players to improve their attitude.
“I have always maintained discipline and 100 percent respect for my coaches.”
“In the national team, even when other players are preferred ahead of me, I just train and wait for my opportunity to come.” Omeruo quoted on Pulse.
“I see a lot of players get angry for not making the starting lineup, and it sends a bad message to the coach because these coaches are human,”
“They have 23 players and it’s difficult to select players, especially playing for Nigeria with lots of talents.
The Super Eagles will assemble again on September 30, for the international friendly game against Algeria.
The Jose Peseiro’s tutored side lost 1-0 to Algeria in an international friendly played at the Wörthersee Stadion in Klagenfurt, Austria two years ago.
