A former Nigerian Player, Salisu Nakande is not impressed with the Super Eagles defensive set up and insists Gernot Rohr’s personnel at the back are Eagles’ weakest link.
Rohr has relied on the centre back pairing of William Troost-Ekong and Leon Balogun mostly, but has frequently called on Omeruo to partner either player.
Small insight in2 our upcoming qualifiers, camping in Europe with the Eagles & the partnership in defence with my bro @wtroostekong 🇳🇬🤙🏽 https://t.co/ftxKb1X4Xy

But Nakande reckons the German Coach can do better than the personnel he current fields.
‘Our defence is the weakest link of the team. We need a Centre back who can command the back, coordinate the defence with the goalkeeper and that will make it easy for the midfielders.’
