Olympic Games: Super Falcons Commence Olympics Training

Nigeria’s Super Falcons have started their preparations for their first appearance in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament in 16 years.

As of Monday morning, 12 players were reportedly present at breakfast.

Two more defenders, Osinachi Ohale and Michelle Alozie, were expected to join the team at the Hotel Barceló Montecastillo Golf and Resort by the afternoon.

Historically, Super Falcons best performance in the Women’s Olympic Football Tournament was 20 years ago in Athens, where they finished in 6th place after being knocked out in the quarter-finals.

The team will start their Olympic journey against Brazil on July 25 at Stade Bordeaux, followed by games against Spain on July 28 and Japan on July 31 at Stade de la Beaujoire in Nantes.
