Coach Bankole Olowookere and his technical crew are working hard to analyze their opponents ahead of the FIFA Women’s U-17 World Cup in the Dominican Republic, the coach informed Brila.net.
Olowookere stated the importance of gathering and understanding opponents’ strengths and strategies while also preparing his own team.
He compared Nigeria’s last outing in India, stating that careful preparation is essential for success.
“It is vital to keep an eye on the opponent while preparing your team for a tournament, especially after our last outing in India,” Olowookere said.
“They are good sides to some extent, and the respect that we have for them is that they are representing a continent, and that means they are not a pushover,” he added.
“I believe they have coaches, and they will be working on something. And they are having one or two things to know about the Nigerian side because of what we did at the last World Cup.”
“New Zealand are not new to us because they were one of our opponents at the last World Cup in India. So, I think Ecuador will be a kind of strong side, I mean physically tough.”
“We will put in those things and go to the competition. And as time goes on, we get to know some of them much more better, begin to get one or two ideas about how they are, how they play, and a bit of their philosophy.”
