Former coach of the Nigeria women national team to the 2003 FIFA women’s world cup in the USA Sam Okpodu has backed the Super Falcons of Nigeria to offer Germany a stern challenge ahead of Saturday’s round of 16 ties between both countries.
Okpodu speaking in a chat with www.brila.net from his base in the USA said the Falcons have been okay and shouldn’t be overlooked by the German ladies despite the Germans been favourite going into the game.
Okpodu added that the girls should simply play to the instruction from their coach and believe that anything can be achieved.
“What we have to concern ourselves with is who we are, what we are going to do even though the draw is against one of the predicted teams to win the world cup.
They’re still going to face challenges from us, it’s not going to be that easy. Our girls have given a good account of themselves. We just have to go in and be prepared with everything the coach is given to the players and hope that we can pool something. “
