Bayelsa Queens head coach Domo Okara said the team had a good run in the CAF Women Champions League in their debut season.
Okara, in a chat with CAF media ahead of the third placed clash with Simba Queens of Tanzania, believes the adventure will linger in the memory of the players for long time.
Bayelsa Queens became the first Nigerian side to reach the semi-final of the tournament. But, they narrowly lost 1-0 to AS FAR in the semi-final on Wednesday.
“It was a good tournament, and a good semi-final against AS FAR. I must confess that the Moroccan team is very good. We gave our best and I am disappointed we didn’t win, but life goes on.
“Our goal was to clinch the title, to become the champions of Africa, but we didn’t get it, we lost to a good side,” he told CAF media.
The Nigerian champions will clash with Tanzanian side Simba Queens in the third-place playoff on Saturday.
