Ogunsemilore’s Drug Test Failure Worries Federation Chief

Vice President of the Nigerian Boxing Federation, Azanian Omo-Agege has described the situation of suspended boxer Cynthia Ogunsemilore for a failed a drug test as “worrisome”.

“There is not much to react to for now, as there is going to be another test on Tuesday. The outcome of the test will determine what to do next,” Omo-Agege told Brila.net.

 

Speaking on Olaitan Olaore’s 0-5 loss to a Kazakhstan opponent, the Vice President said, “Win some, lose some. Boxing has always done very well before and we’ve always prepared well.

“Our anticipation and hope on when they will start will definitely come up with some medals. But on the looks of things, it’s not looking very bright.”

 

 

Regarding Ogunsemilore, he said, “Let’s wait for Tuesday to see what happens to Cynthia.”

He also commented on Adam, another Nigerian boxer, saying, “I’m shocked at the results of Adam too, because Adam was one of our brightest prospects.

‘He’s the African champion. And that result, I’m seeing five to zero. It’s not really the Adam I know. So we’ll have to really, let me get enough details for me to actually talk about it, but it’s not looking very good for now.”
