Thursday brought some relief to Gbenga Ogunbote, as Rangers got off the mark in the NPFL Super 6 with a 2-1 win over Lobi Stars, to register their first points.

Two first half goals from Godwin Aguda (13′) and Chiamaka Madu (28′) quickly brightened up their chances, but there could have been more in the game and the Coach admits so.

Ogunbote also defended his side’s second half performance as they sat back, soaking up the pressure and leaning on the ropes for the majority of the second 45 minutes.

‘We have our way of doing things in the second half, we expected to come out and to want to rush. We wanted to play on counter and we had it, if my boys had taken the chances; we wasted as many as four chances, but be it as it may the final result was 2-1,’ said Ogunbote.
