Lobi stars coach Gbenga Ogunbote has rued the result of his team’s 2019/2020 league campaign after missing out of a place on the continent following the eventual adoption and ratification of the Weighted Point per game league table.
Ogunbote speaking in a chat with www.brila.net described the whole scenario as unfortunate and a blow below the belt for his side who had become the biggest casualty of the Covid-19 pandemic missing out completely on the continent in a season where they could have ended as champions if not for COVID.
He also lamented a few careless moments that accounted for been greatly affected by the PPG system.
“I think it was an unfortunate one we were hit below the belt, I won’t agree with anybody if somebody had told me before now that Lobi stars will not be in the continent or if not winning the shield.
We were formally on top but we had careless moments but be it as it may the Covid thing came up and unfortunately we lost out completely. We will be looking towards another season if not for the careless moments, honestly, it was a painful one.”
