2018 Aiteo Cup-winning coach Gbenga Ogunbote has prolonged his stay at Rangers International of Enugu by putting pen to paper for a year renewal, the Club said on Tuesday via its Twitter account.
Ogunbote won the 2018 Aiteo Cup with Rangers in a spectacular fashion with his side coming back from three goals deficit to leveled up and held their nerves to win the Cup for the first time in thirty-five years via a penalty shootout against Kano Pillars in Asaba.
However, shortly after the historic win, the former Sunshine Stars of Akure manager’s departure was widely reported by various media outlets because his one year deal with the Club came to an end.
In a bid to avoid losing the man called”The Oracle” by Nigeria football faithful, the 2016 Nigeria professional football league champions decided to offer a new one-year extension.
“Rangers Management Corporation, owners of Rangers International F.C, have extended the contract of Aiteo Cup-winning coach, Olugbenga Ogunbote for another season,” the club tweeted.
With this Ogunbote who joined Rangers from Enyimba at the beginning of 2107/2018 season will lead the Flying Antelopes to the next season CAF Confederations Cup.
