Ogbimi rues postponed Africa Cricket T20 championship caused by Corona virus

Coach of Nigeria’s Cricket national team Uthe Ogbimi has rued the postponement of this month’s Africa Cricket Association T20 championship occasioned by the dreaded Corona virus and the need to take precautionary measures.

Ogbimi speaking in a chat with brila.net said the postponement has disrupted the program of the team as well who were scheduled to be in Zimbabwe currently to intensify preparation for the competition after having had the first leg of preparation in Nigeria before the postponement.
He also added that the postponement have disrupted what could easily have been a momentum been built already in readiness for the competition.
“The players were already looking forward to Zimbabwe to have some proper match practice. The uncertainty of what could have been is there but I think the guys have taken it in good faith and it’s not as if the tournament is completely out of the radar.
“They were looking to go there to just shore up their form. The NCF has provided a better platform for preparation. So the way it was going, it was like the guys were ready to do something special.”
