Samuel Ogazi triumphed in the men’s 400m race at the Luzern Athletics Meet in Switzerland on Tuesday.
Despite a slow start, Ogazi staged a remarkable comeback, securing the win with a time of 45.18 seconds.
The Nigerian sprinter’s impressive performance saw him overtake the competition in the final 50 meters.
He edged out the United States’ Indoor Champion, Brian Faust, who finished second with a time of 45.28 seconds.
Zambia’s Zakithi Nene claimed third place, clocking in at 45.35 seconds.
Ogazi, one of the athletes to watch at the upcoming Paris Olympic Games, is seen as a medal hopeful for Nigeria.
