Odion Ighalo sends message to fans

Former Super Eagles and Shanghai Greenland Shenhua forward, Odion Jude Ighalo after his shock retirement from the national team is currently enjoying some time off football on vacation in Turkey, after a successful 2019 Africa cup of Nation outing in Egypt.

The former Watford striker following his 2019 Afcon record-breaking feat had words for his followers on his official social media accounts with the caption “Those who judge don’t understand, and those who understand don’t judge 🦅🇳🇬🙏🏾”

Ighalo made his debut under the tutelage of Daniel Amokachi in 2015 and later played his first competition with the senior team at the 2018 World Cup in Russia. He received a lot of negative vibes and criticism from football fans during the Eagles 2018 world cup campaign for missed chances and performing below expectations.

In another related post, the former Changchun Yatai top scorer has also shared advice on his page “Hold your head high.ignore the mockers. stick your chest out.you can make it. It gets dark sometimes but morning comes…”

Ighalo became the first player to be both the AFCON Qualifiers Top Scorer (with 7 goals) and AFCON Top Scorer (with 5 goals) at the 2019 African football showpiece and has said “When your heart is pure and true, God has a way of making sure everything works out in your favour…”
