Odion Ighalo has opened his goal account for Al-Wehda in the new Saudi Arabian football season, scoring in their hard-fought 2-1 victory over Al-Orobah on Wednesday.
The former Premier League striker wasted no time making an impact, netting the opening goal in the first minute of the game.
The Nigerian forward converted a pass from Moroccan forward Mohamed Al Makahasi to put Al-Wehda ahead.
Al-Orobah responded in the 33rd minute with an equalizer, as Jóhann Berg Guðmundsson set up defender Ziyad Al-Hunaiti to level the score.
Ighalo was substituted in the 57th minute, making way for Mourad Mohammed Abdullah Khodari.
Despite being taken off early, Ighalo’s performance earned him the Man of the Match accolade.
Odion Ighalo, following the end of the match on social media, wrote, “Back to Business.”
He is expected to return to action when Al-Wehda faces Al-Ittihad in their next league fixture.
