The Ghana justice system will Today pass verdict on the divorce suit filed by former footballer, Nii Odartey Lamptey against his estranged, former wife Gloria.
In 2013 the former footballer’s almost 20-year marriage crashed after his allegations of extra-marital affair against his then wife, Gloria Lamptey.
He also carried out paternity tests on their three children, that revealed he was did not father any of the kids.
However, in a bizarre twist, Gloria has also spoken out claiming Lamptey approved of and even encouraged her sexual relations with other men because he was sterile.
In an interview, Last year, on a local Radio station, the ex-footballer denied the allegations.
He said : “Never, never…which man in his right senses would say that.”
“I don’t think if you are married to a woman and you leave for even two years it is justified for the woman to cheat…I have always been with her in all the countries I played football so there is no justification,” Lamptey told Bola Ray on Starr Chat.
Lamptey has always expressed optimism about the outcome of the court case.
The former R.S.C. Anderlecht player is the owner of Golden Lions Soccer Academy and told brila.net last month he would officially launch the academy after the court verdict, and will name one of the facilities after his mentor and “father” Stephen Keshi.
