Obodo identifies reasons for Samuel Chukwueze’s Struggles in Super Eagles

Samuel Chukwueze has been the toast of the Nigerian football fraternity this week, off the back of his performance against Real Madrid in LaLiga.

Chukwueze stole the show with two brilliant goals and even grabbed the attention of Real Madrid President Florentino Perez.

However, it’s a different tale when it comes to the Super Eagles as the Young winger seems unsure, indecisive.

Former Midfielder, Christian Obodo says the situation is made worse by the short time National team players get to train together.

Obodo argued that the form disparity is largely because of team chemistry.

“For Samuel Chukwueze, when he started in LaLiga, he played well there and also for the national team. But, at a time, he stopped performing well in the national team. He’s also one of my favorite.

“Why they perform well at club level than the national team is because they play with their club team mates day in day out, unlike the national team. They come around just a week, the bond isn’t too well.

“I’ll say it again, that it’s the personality, although they are all top players in their club sides but they barely perform in the national team.”
