The Chipolopolo Coach, who has vowed to bring down the full fury of heaven on Saturday when they face the Super Eagles of Nigeria in the crunch 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.
Zambia is in pursuit of a mission – impossible or not – to upstage the Super Eagles of Nigeria in Uyo and possibly Group B for one of only five tickets in the CAF zone to reach Russia next year.
A relaxed-looking Wedson Nyirenda led a small contingent of Zambian players and Officials through the doors of the arrival hall at the Nnamdi Azikiwe Airport on Wednesday afternoon.
Nyirenda did not look that part though, he donned a simple Lacoste shirt while cladding his swing bag.
If ever he had a master plan to break hearts in Uyo come Saturday, his demeanor gave away no hints.
He spoke eventually, but only about the second batch of players and officials whose arrival date is likely to be on Thursday.
He said the second team will consist of 18 players and officials.
The first batch will enjoy the hospitality of the Country’s Federal Capital for a night before proceeding to Uyo on Thursday.
No on-the-field training programmes are scheduled or at least the Coach does not think it will until he has the full complement of his players.
The few playing personnel on Nyirenda’s Coach (Team Bus) also spoke very little; just pleasantries and a pose for the cameras, perhaps saving their best for the Super Eagles inside the Nest of Champions.
