Ex International and former national team assistant coach Henry Nwosu has given the recipe for grooming youngsters through the ranks in the national team set up so as to ensure players actually fulfill their potential.
Nwosu speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said coaches will do well not to put such players under unnecessary pressure by throwing them into the senior team suddenly but through a carefully structured way to help aid the development of players from the cadet, through to the junior and to the senior team.
“As a coach, It’s always better to take it easy with players coming from the underage team because it is not easy for you to play at the underage side and transform straight to the Super Eagles. It is not easy, it takes good players that are very exposed. I grew through the ranks and the confidence grew with me but most of these players didn’t get such an advantage.
