In a keenly contested match, Rivers Angels emerged victorious with a 2-1 win against Edo Queens, returning to their winning ways in the ongoing NWFL Super Six.

Inside the opening 11 minutes, as Florence Alexander’s free kick slipped through the hands of Edo Queens goalkeeper Ijeoma Uzoma, giving Rivers Angels an early lead.

They continued to press their opponents, and their efforts were rewarded when Uroko Elizabeth inadvertently turned Okpe Blessing’s cross into her own net under pressure from the Rivers side.

Edo Queens pulled one back in the 32nd minute through Emem Essien, capitalizing on a goalkeeping error by Ademola Morufa.

Despite the fightback, Rivers Angels held on to their lead and secured the win, placing them at the top of the table.

They lead Bayelsa Queens on goal difference, both teams having four points, pending the outcome of the final match of the day between Confluence Queens and Heartland Queens.
