Edo Queens has been crowned champions of the 2023 Nigeria Women Football League Premiership.

Their maiden title triumph came after a hard-fought draw against hosts Bayelsa Queens in the final match.

Emem Essien struck first to hand them the lead inside twenty-nine minutes, but Zainab Olopade levelled for Bayelsa Queens early in the second half.

A point from the game was enough to see Edo Queens edge Rivers Angels with a total of ten points in five matches.

Despite the intense pressure, they managed to hold on, securing the crucial point needed to claim the championship title for the first time in their history.

On their part, Rivers Angels settled for a 1-1 draw against debutants Heartland Queens.
