Kano Pillars and home-based Super Eagles player Nyima Nwangwa has expressed delight with the insistence of the Nigeria Football Federation to have Super Eagles coach Gernot Rohr look inward and give consideration to home-based players.
Nwangwa speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said the move will help brighten the chances of Nigerian league players with national team opportunities as well as help blossom the career of many who will get a higher level of exposure through such opportunities.
He added that the coach has been doing this in a little way before but he hopes to see him do more now with local league players.
“So I believe with this new opportunity now, at least the home-based players will have this whole opportunity of getting opportunities for call ups.
And now that the team is performing well now, it will actually be a plus for us to get our international platforms and from there our careers will blossom more than the way it is now.
I ‘m really happy with the whole idea of NFF and Gernot Rohr though one way or the other he has been trying to do it but with this whole situation now, probably he has one or two that he has seen.”
