Nigerian striker Anthony Nwakaeme led his club, Trabzonspor to their first Turkish league title since 1984.
Trabzonspor were crowned champions after their 2-2 draw with Antalyaspor at home on Saturday.
Nwakaeme, who just returned from injury did not featured in Saturday’s game against Antalyaspor.
Nevertheless, it was a successful campaign for the 34-year-old Nigerian as he contributed 21 goals (11 goals and 10 assists) to the Club’s success.
Before the final whistle, fans ran on to the pitch and then cleared out so the game could be finished.
The Black Sea Storm are nine points clear of Fenerbahce – with a better head-to-head record – with three games to go.
It was their first title since 1984, although the club came very close to the trophy in six seasons, in 1994–95, 1995–96, 2003–04, 2004–05, 2010–11 and 2019–20.
They are one of only six teams ever to win the Turkish title.
