Nigeria forward Anthony Nwakaeme has spoken exclusively about life in Turkey and the current title challenge in the domestic league.
Nwakaeme’s club Trabzonspor are currently seated at the top of the Turkish Super League with 27 points from 11 matches.
The 32-year-old is one of the reasons behind their blistering start to the campaign — scoring six goal and providing two assists in 11 matches.
“We are in a race and we know it will not be easy. We are ready to finish the race in the lead. We want to continue like this,” Nwakaeme told the press.
“I am very happy to be in a country like Turkey. A lot of things have changed in my life since I came here. If there’s something people celebrate, I wanted to celebrate with them,” .
The striker scored the winner in Trabzonspor’s 2-1 win against Rizespor at the weekend.
The forward helped Trabzonspor to win the Turkish Cup last season.
