Trabzonspor, the seven-time Turkish champion, has successfully re-signed Anthony Nwakaeme, eighteen months after he initially left the club.

The Nigerian forward returns from Saudi Arabian side Al Fayha, drawn by Trabzonspor’s ambitious plans for the upcoming season.

The club aims to challenge for the league title and strengthen their squad with strategic signings.

Expressing his gratitude, Nwakaeme hailed the fans, describing them as “family” and thanking them for their unwavering support.

During his first stint with Trabzonspor, Nwakaeme played a pivotal role in securing the 2021/22 Turkish league title.

After leaving for Al Fayha on a free transfer in 2022, Nwakaeme’s return marks a significant boost for Trabzonspor.

Following his arrival, the club’s attention has now turned to signing Paul Onuachu.

Onuachu, who netted fifteen goals last season and helped the team reach the Turkish Cup final and qualify for the UEFA Conference League, is reportedly reluctant to return to his parent club Southampton after his loan spell with Trabzonspor.
