Rivers United captain, Nyima Nwagwa described the win against Etoile Filante in the CAF Confederation Cup as a nervy one for the team.

A late brace from Alex Oyowah (89′, 90′) secured the victory for Rivers United, but the team had missed two glorious opportunities from the penalty spot to quickly put the game to bed.

The former Nigerian champions booked their spot in the group stage of the competition on a 2-0 aggregate win.

Speaking with BRL, Nwagwa expressed relief after the game, because the team were under pressure to deliver.

He admitted it was a tough game Etoile Filante gave them a good fight at the Adokiye Amiesimaka Stadium.
