Nwabali Staying Put At Chippa United
65
From all indications Stanley Nwabali will continue for another season as a Chippa United player, but could this be deliberate on the Player’s part or a lack of effort from his agent?
The Nigerian star goalkeeper may remain at South Africa club, Chippa United if a suitable offer is not received by the club before the end of the summer transfer window.
Nwabali was rumored to have been linked to several clubs in Europe, Saudi Arabia and even with South Africa, but none submitted an official bid.
Chippa United’s assistant coach, Thabo September confirmed this news, revealing Stanley ‘Bobo’ has returned to the club, and will remain with them for another season if a concrete offer isn’t received.
“We all want Stanley to go to the next level, forward to the bigger things. That’s why he plays so well, so that he can get a bigger move. From the management, the chairman, and us as coaches and players, we want that to happen, but at the moment, he’s here with us, and he’s a professional,” September said.
“He’s working for that moment, and when that moment will happen. He’s a professional and is training well, and if that doesn’t happen, he’s looking forward to playing in the PSL for Chippa United, but me as a coach I don’t know if there’s anything on the table.”
Stanley Nwabali joined Chippa United from Katsina United in 2022.
He made 26 appearances and kept eleven clean sheets for the club last season.
He entered the spotlight with his performance in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, where he helped Nigeria qualify for the finals and was voted the Goalkeeper of the tournament.
This performance attracted a lot of interest from clubs around the world, but with September’s statement, Nwabali’s exit from Chippa United is uncertain.
