International Table Tennis Federation head of nomination committee and executive member of the Nigeria Table Tennis Federation Waheed Oshodi has revealed that the NTTF is set to explore an all-female Table Tennis championship in order to help salvage the faltering standard of the female game in Nigeria.
Oshodi speaking in a chat with www.brila.net said it has become imperative considering the not too good standard of the women’s game compared to the men’s game that seems to be enjoying a boost. He added that it was tough to have the junior girls perform as much as their boys counterpart last month at the Africa junior championship in Ghana.
“ It’s very difficult for the women and the President of the Federation recognises this problem and he’s propose a female only championship and training camp for June in a bid to assist these young female players come through.”
He thereafter added that this will go a long way to help the female game.
