NPFL Youth League All-Stars Begin Development Camp in Abuja

The Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Youth League All-stars has commenced a two-week development camp in Abuja.

The camp, which began on Sunday, July 21, hosts 30 young players at the Goodluck Jonathan Athletes Performance Hostel inside the FIFA Goal Project of the MKO Abiola National Stadium. The camp will run until August 3.

The players come from various NPFL youth teams:

Rangers International Youth Team: 7 players

Remo Stars Youth Team: 6 players

Rivers United Youth Team: 5 players (winners of the maiden NPFL U17 Youth League)

Plateau United Youth Team: 4 players

Katsina United Youth Team: 4 players

Lobi Stars Youth Team: 2 players

Abia Warriors Youth Team: 1 player

Sunshine Stars Youth Team: 1 player

These players were selected from the five zonal qualifiers held in February in Lafia, Kaduna, Ado-Ekiti, Enugu, and Port Harcourt, as well as from the finals held from February 25 to March 3 in Benin.

Some of the standout players have already been promoted to the senior teams of their respective clubs or have joined the National U-17 team.

Oscar Ozornwanfor (Rivers United)
Seiyefa Jackson (Rivers United)
Chimaobi Igwilo (Rangers)
Aigbe Bolaji (Remo Stars)
The camp is set to conclude on August 3, with plans for the players to travel to Spain for further training.
