Plateau United suffered narrow 1-0 defeat to Heartland to drop maximum points only for the first time this season in the NPFL.
Abdul Maikaba’s men held on until the 73rd minute before Chibundu Amah broke their resolve and the deadlock on the way to securing a second win in the league for Fidelis Ilechukwu’s men.
It was a keenly contested tie with very little to separate the sides both on possession and attempt on goal.
However, the attackers weren’t clinical enough and both sides ended up with a combined three shots on target for the duration.
Victory for the Millionaires pushed them just above the relegation zone, but only just.
In other games, Pillars mauled visiting Delta Force 6-1, to record back to back wins.
6 – Kano Pillars recorded 6 goals in an NPFL match for the first time since a 6-0 bashing of Shooting Stars in April 2016. Revival. #PILDEL #NPFL20

Ndifreke Effiong scored a hat-trick to bring some calm to the Promise Keepers and a much needed relief for Head Coach John Obuh.
