The Chairman of the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), Hon. Gbenga Elegbeleye has announced a significant increase in the league’s prize money at the NPFL Annual General Meeting held in Abuja on Tuesday.

Next season’s champion will now earn ₦200 million, up from the ₦150 million awarded to Enugu Rangers for their 2023-2024 season victory.

In addition to the prize money announcement, the NPFL confirmed that the upcoming season will follow a regular format, putting to rest any speculation about an abridged league.

The season is set to commence on August 31st and September 1st, with the first round fixtures already released.
