In a series of tweets on Tuesday, Seven-time Nigerian champions, Enyimba denied media reports the club will consider hiring WAFU Cup-winning coach Maxwell Konadu.
Konadu guided the Black Stars to a 4-1 romp of the Eagles in the WAFU Nations Cup final on Sunday, and reports in Ghana have suggested he could join compatriot Yaw Preko as Coach in the NPFL.
The 44-year-old Ghanaian football Manager is also the assistant coach of the Black Stars first team.
Debunking the story widely reported on Monday, Enyimba tweeted that:
“The attention of the management has been drawn to a news story attributing to it interest in Ghana WAFU coach Maxwell Konadu.”
“The club hereby distances itself from this rumour, as there has been no communication between #Enyimba and Mr Konadu.”
“The position of #Enyimba Head Coach is not vacant. All outlets are advised to duly disregard any reports stating otherwise.”
