“No One Is Perfect” – Former Flying Eagles Coach Amoo on Racketeering Claims in Nigerian Football

Former Flying Eagles head coach Fatai Amoo has commented on allegations of racketeering in Nigeria’s national teams, emphasizing that no human being is perfect while expressing satisfaction with the current technical crew.

As the CHAN Eagles prepare to face Ghana in the AFCON Championship qualifiers, Amoo shared his perspective on the contentious issue during an interview with Brila.net.
He acknowledged the difficulty of giving a definitive answer about the existence of racketeering but highlighted the quality of players often selected.
“I cannot substantiate that claim; I can’t say yes or no to it. But from my experience with the national team, no human being is perfect,” Amoo stated.
He also defended the selection of players, explaining that many of them have proven themselves in competitive leagues.
“If we look at the players invited to this particular competition (CHAN Eagles), we can’t say some of them are not playing in top leagues or even the NNL.
“If they are playing in top leagues, then there is really nothing to question. Coaches will always select players they believe can deliver, based on their own perception.”
Amoo concluded by reiterating his support for the current technical crew, expressing optimism about the team’s preparations and their chances in the qualifiers.
“The preparation is top tier, with the coaches working with Agustine Eguaveon we stand a good chance of getting a positive result.
