No Cause for Alarm! Kanu Confident Enyimba will beat Al Ahly in Aba

Enyimba Chairman, Nwankwo Kanu believes the team will bounce back from the defeat to Al Ahly in the CAF Champions League first-leg, preliminary qualifier.

The two-time champions, Enyimba, lost 4-3 to the Al Ahly, and at risk of an early elimination from the competition.

However, reacting to Sunday’s game, Kanu is confident Enyimba will turn the slim deficit around in the return-leg.

“Our boys gave their all on the pitch today,” he told EnyimbaFC.net. “They faced a formidable team and fought with determination and heart.

“The result might not have gone our way, but what matters is the effort and resilience shown by the boys. They did well and I commend them.”

“With what we saw in this game, I’m confident we have what it takes to guarantee qualification when we play the return leg in Aba.

“In fact, the 4-3 scoreline means the second leg will be highly entertaining, something the fans back home would love to watch.”

The return match is scheduled for Sunday, August 27, in Enyimba Stadium. A 1-0 win will be enough to guarantee the Aba Elephants a place in the next round.
