Nigerian-born Lukas Nmecha scored twice as Wolfsburg secured three valuable points against Arminia Bielefeld in the German Bundesliga on Saturday.
Wolfsburg won the game 4-0 to secure bragging rights over fellow strugglers Arminia Bielefeld.
Nmecha had a goal disallowed for offside five minutes into the game, but the 23-year-old got his name on the score sheet not long afterwards after combining with Yannick Gerhardt’s clever pass.
The same duo combined to double the lead in the 38th minute, with Gerhardt heading a cross back into the middle for Nmecha to finish from close range.
Wolfsburg secured the third three minutes into second half when Arnold curled a sensational effort into the top corner.
Former Union Berlin forward Kruse sealed the win with a header from Ridle Baku’s right-wing cross in the 53rd minute.
The triumph moves Wolfsburg eight points clear off the drop zone, while Arminia Bielefeld remains deep in relegation troubles.
