President of Athletics South Africa ASA and Secretary General of the Confederation of Africa Athletics CAA Southern region 5 Aleck Skhosana has stated that Nigeria has got huge potential in Athletics and remain a giant in African athletics.
Skhosana speaking exclusively in a chat with www.brila.net said Nigeria has got huge population and has more involvement in Athletics where they have been a force.
He added that the focus on Marathon is a step in the right direction which would help launch Nigeria into Marathon as well which for now still remain the exclusive reserve of the East Africans.
Skhosana said he sees Nigeria taking its rightful place even in Marathon with the right level of engagement of athletes through competitions, Private sponsorships, and Government interest to explore Marathon races.
