Nigerian Para-Badminton stars Mariam Eniola Bolaji and Chigozie Jeremiah Nnanna have made history as the first African players to win a match at the Paris 2024 Paralympics Games.

Bolaji continued her impressive run in the Women’s Singles SL3 event, securing her second consecutive victory by defeating Australia’s Aurelie Vinot 2-0 (21-8, 21-14).

This win follows her earlier victory against an Indian opponent, where she also won in straight sets (21-8, 21-14).

With these back-to-back victories, Bolaji has confirmed her spot in the quarter-finals, and in her Para-Badminton debut at the 2024 Paralympic Games.
