Izunna Uzochukwu, the one-time capped Super Eagles player, is facing a formidable challenge in Denmark, where he has resided for nearly two decades.
The Danish Authority has dealt a significant blow to Uzochukwu, as he stands on the brink of deportation from the European country following an unsuccessful legal battle.
The experienced midfielder lost his permanent residence permit due to relinquishing his residence and CPR number in Denmark in connection with his transfer to the Chinese club MZ Hakka in January 2018.
Despite his efforts, Uzochukwu’s appeal against expulsion has been rejected, compelling him to prepare for departure from the country.
This turn of events marks a critical chapter in the Player’s life, highlighting the challenges faced by athletes navigating international transfers and the legal complexities associated with residency in foreign countries.
“I have my girlfriend and my daughter in Denmark, and I have almost lived in the country for 15 years. I feel really bad and I’m really stressed about it. I can’t do anything!” Uzochukwu said to bold.dk.
“I cannot live in Denmark now, and they are trying to get me out of the country because they have said no to the appeal.
“I don’t think it’s fair, and I’ve been waiting for more than two years. I can’t do anything, and I’ve had offers from other clubs that I’ve had to say no to.”
Uzochukwu has played more than 200 games in Danish Super Liga with FC Midtjylland and OB and has a girlfriend living in the country.
