Nigerian midfielder, Kazeem Ogunleye has officially been unveiled by Albanian club Partizani after completing his move from NPFL champions, Rangers.
The 18-year-old signed a four-year contract with the Albanian Superliga outfit in January and has now finalized the transfer after successfully passing his medical.
Ogunleye, a key figure in Rangers’ title-winning campaign last season, will now look to make his mark in European football.
During his time at Rangers, Ogunleye helped the club secure its eighth NPFL title.
He registered one goal and three assists in 15 league appearances this season before sealing his move to Albania.
His arrival at Partizani increases the number of Nigerian players at the club to two, with Blessing Eleke already a key member of the squad.
Ogunleye’s football journey saw him join Rangers from Plateau United in August 2023, reuniting with coach Fidelis Ilechukwu, under whom he previously played.
Despite his short stint with the Flying Antelopes, he left a significant mark, scoring six goals, four from free kicks, and providing six assists in the 2023/24 NPFL season.
His set-piece mastery proved decisive in several matches, including a stunning free-kick winner against Rivers United, ending a four-year winless streak against the Port Harcourt-based club.
Speaking at his unveiling, Ogunleye expressed his enthusiasm for the new challenge.
“I’m happy to be here at Partizani. It’s a great club with a strong history, and I’m looking forward to contributing to the team’s success,” he said.
Partizani, one of Albania’s most successful clubs, is currently competing for the league title and a place in European competitions.
The Nigerian midfielder is expected to make his debut in the coming weeks as he begins his new journey in Europe.
With his technical ability and vision, Partizani will hope he can make an immediate impact in their pursuit of silverware.
