FC Zurich has secured the signing of Nigerian forward Umeh Emmanuel from Bulgarian side Botev Plovdiv.
The 19-year-old inked a five-year deal with the Swiss club for an undisclosed fee, the club announced on its official website on Monday, July 8.
Emmanuel, who spent the last two years at Botev Plovdiv after transferring from Russian club FDC Vista, has shown promise in his international career as well.
He represented Nigeria’s under-20 team at the 2023 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Argentina, where he provided two assists and helped Nigeria reach the quarter-finals.
Emmanuel also helped Botev Plovdiv clinch the Bulgarian Cup victory this year.
