Former Super Eagles coach Johannes Bonfrère says Nigerian Coaches need to upgrade their knowledge of the sport in order to help the many young talents in the Country flourish.
Bonfrère was Nigeria’s coach between 1995-1996 and later between 1999-2001 and he led the U23s to an Olympic Gold medal and also finished as runner-up in the Africa Cup of Nations.
He told Brila.net that young footballers in the country are not able to reach their full potentials among other reasons because the system isn’t structured to help them grow.
The Dutch man says the development of the coaches will be to the advantage of the players at the long run, because they would have passed through well structured coaching model and better equipped to impart that knowledge.
