Nigeria will target winning it’s first ever Olympic Gold medal in Amateur Wrestling at the 2020 Summer Games in Tokyo re-elected President of the Federation Daniel Igali has told brila.net

Igali said the Federation must now aim for top honors in the Olympics and World Championships following the massive gains made in the past four years.

However, he cautioned that the journey may yet be tempestuous as it will require better planning.

The NWF chief stressed the need to also provide better facilities for the Athletes within the next four year and most importantly adequately fund the body as it pursues its new set of objectives.

‘The ultimate goal of the Nigeria Wrestling Federation is to win an Olympic Medal.

‘2020 is the target but also you know it must now require planning, providing the enabling environment for the athletes to succeed and importantly funding.’
