Former Nigeria international Sam Sodje has expressed confidence in the Super Eagles advancing with ease from their AFCON 2025 group.
The three-time African champions were drawn into Group C, where they will face Tunisia, Uganda, and Tanzania.
While Tunisia, a former AFCON winner, poses the biggest threat, Uganda and Tanzania are considered underdogs on the continent.
Speaking in an interview with Brila.net, Sodje dismissed any concerns about Nigeria’s qualification, citing their strong history in the tournament.
“We’ve got a new coach, and history won’t play any part. Hopefully, we will go through.
We’ve never struggled in the group stage at AFCON, and this won’t be different.
Once we get our tactics right, there won’t be any problem getting out of this group.”
The Super Eagles will look to top the group, relying on their experience, squad depth, and tactical discipline to progress smoothly into the knockout rounds.
