Super Eagles midfielder, Wilfred Ndidi has expressed his readiness to take on any role within the national team as they prepare for their upcoming match against Libya in the AFCON qualifiers.
Ndidi, who is enjoying a successful season with Leicester City, has been playing in a more advanced role under coach Steve Cooper at Leicester City.
This season, he has contributed significantly to his team with four assists and a goal.
In an exclusive interview with Brila Media, Ndidi shared his thoughts on playing various positions for the national team.
“For me, it’s not my decision to say I want to play in this position.” He continued, “I just leave it open to the managers and the coaches to actually decide where they want me to play.
“I’m very open to play in any position as long as it’s helping the team. So that’s me as a player, I’m very open to play in any position on the pitch.”
Ahead of the match on Friday, Ndidi affirmed the team’s readiness to face Libya, emphasizing the positive impact of their training sessions.
“We’re very much ready. We trained very well yesterday. We came together yesterday for the first time.”
“There were some delayed flights and cancelled flights, but everyone came together like yesterday. Much of the players came yesterday, joined together yesterday and we were very very much ready for the games.”
While the Super Eagles held a closed training session, Libya conducted an open training session today.
The match against Libya is set for 5 PM on Friday, where the three-time African champions currently sit at the top of the group, while Libya is at the bottom.
