Ex International, Godwin Okpara has dismissed concerns of fans over the short period of camping the Super Eagles had building up to today’s Afcon qualifier game against Benin Republic and believes Nigeria stand a better chance against the Squirrels.
“There is no need for Nigerians to be tensed the players are professionals they play champions league, league games, cup games some 3 times in a week and should be used to the busy routine and tight schedule of the game, it will not affect our performance today.”
Okpara also added that the Eagles players are concious of the Benin Republic team following their performance at the 2019 AFCON and believes playing at home will help the Eagles as they have the fans to cheer them.
“The Super Eagles will be under pressure going into today’s game because we play at home with Benin republic looking to cause an upset but the fans are more understanding now than back in our playing days which will help calm that pressure.”
